Onto Innovation Inc. is dedicated to safeguarding the environment, the health and safety of our employees, and the community in which we operate. We believe that innovative products should make a positive impact on our world without harming our planet. That’s why we are prioritizing sustainability in our semiconductor design and manufacturing processes. We are committed to continuously improving our business operations to reduce our impact on the local and global environment by conserving energy and water, minimizing waste landfills, promoting recycling, and eliminating or reducing the use of hazardous materials. Our goal is to achieve environmental excellence and prevent pollution by meeting or surpassing all environmental regulatory requirements. Additionally, we aim to procure products with higher recycled content, lower toxicity, and eco-friendly packaging that minimizes the use of natural resources. MINIMIZING Environmental Impacts
We’re committed to creating and maintaining policies, programs, and practices that ensure sustainability is at the forefront of everything we do. From evaluating purchasing decisions in our offices to monitoring processes across our supply chain, we’re taking steps to reduce our global carbon footprint.

COMPLYING with Laws and Regulations
We’ve implemented programs and policies that help ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and requirements in the communities where we operate. As guidelines change, we update our business plans and ongoing operations to ensure sustainability and a safer, greener future for everyone.
CONSERVING Natural Resources
We’re dedicated to operating our business and designing and manufacturing our products with lower energy needs and smaller carbon footprints. This helps reduce the consumption of raw materials across the entire supply chain.
Waste Management Policy
Onto Innovation’s waste management policy is designed to ensure that all general and hazardous waste generated at our facilities is managed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. We prioritize recycling, reusing, reclaiming, or utilizing waste in specific ways, including disposal methods and energy recovery through combustion. Our goal is to eliminate the use of landfills for hazardous waste.

We have implemented safety programs across our organization based on our core values and corporate culture. A safe and healthy work environment not only minimizes work-related injuries and illnesses but also enhances the quality and consistency of Onto Innovation’s products and services while improving employees’ retention and engagement.
Health and Safety Programs
We believe in safety through awareness, responsibility, and teamwork. Our rigorous health and safety program uses awareness, responsibility, risk assessment/management, and teamwork to reinforce that safety is the responsibility of every employee, contractor, customer, supplier, and visitor. We believe that all workplace injuries are preventable. Our Injury Illness Prevention Plan is designed to report incidents comprehensively and escalate them to managers at the appropriate level. We review, analyze, and track all incidents, including near misses.
We aim to protect the health and safety of everyone throughout our entire operation, including in our offices, manufacturing sites, R&D labs, and our field teams working at customer sites. Through injury prevention and education programs, we strive to achieve an incident-free workplace and ensure that our employees return home safe every day.

Injury/Illness Prevention Plan
Onto Innovation has established procedures for reporting and investigating incidents related to personnel injuries, environmental releases or spills, property damage, near misses, and workplace violence. Timely and accurate reporting and investigation of all incidents are essential to our success in creating a workplace free from recognized hazards.
We investigate contractor incidents similarly to full-time employees, regardless of severity.

Science Based Target Initiatives (SBTi)
Onto Innovation has committed to setting mid-term and long-term emission targets in line with what climate science says is necessary by utilizing SBTi processes and protocols. By doing so, we recognize the crucial role the business community can play in minimizing the risk climate change poses to the future of our planet. We will publish related goals, including reduction targets and data related to Scope 1, 2, and 3, as they become available.
CDP Reporting
We disclose our risks and opportunities related to climate change, carbon emissions, and waste through CDP, a non-profit organization that evaluates corporate climate impacts for the investor community. In 2024, Onto received a B grade on climate change and water security. This score is comparable to or higher than both the North American regional average and the average for the electrical and electronic equipment sector.
Responsible Business Alliance
Onto Innovation is proud to be a member of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), an industry coalition that promotes social responsibility in global supply chains. As a member, we are committed to upholding the RBA’s code of conduct, which sets standards for labor practices, health and safety, environmental impact, ethics, and management systems.
To ensure that we meet our responsibilities, we have established clear expectations for our suppliers and vendors. We require them to comply not only with our own standards but also with the RBA code of conduct. By doing so, we strive to create a responsible and sustainable supply chain that benefits everyone involved.

Environmental Health and Safety
At Onto Innovation, we understand that reducing emissions is just one aspect of our broader commitment to minimizing our environmental impact. We prioritize the safety and well-being of our employees at all of our global locations while simultaneously conserving valuable resources, minimizing waste, and encouraging employees’ involvement with ESG-focused teams.
We are pleased to announce that we have exceeded our environmental goals for 2025 well ahead of schedule. We recognize the importance of holding ourselves accountable for our long-term environmental objectives. In 2024, we published our commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and plan to collaborate with them to establish a new set of goals/targets. Our target for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions will be designed to significantly lessen our environmental impact and facilitate our transition to a low-carbon economy. We intend to publish our targets and our progress toward them as soon as they are finalized by SBTi.
So far, we have reduced our carbon footprint per person by 51% and increased our renewable energy usage to 41% of our total electrical consumption. These achievements and goals ensure that we remain focused on mitigating our key environmental impacts while continuing to grow our business.
